I didn't know about the Hallmark movie attached to this story so I went in reading Beth's story with a fresh perspective. When Courage Calls takes having a higher calling to a whole other level. Beth chooses to leave her posh upbringing behind and teach underprivileged children in Western Canada. She finds herself drawn in, not just to the children, but to the entire community. I don't think a single inhabitant of Coal Valley remains untouched by Beth's contributions to the town.
Bethany House Publishers provided me with a copy of this book to review, but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations and thoughts while reading this novel.
