Time Warp?

I don't know how I did it, but today  I managed to make 8 dozen cookies, do 4 loads of laundry, type a menu for Christmas week and watch/feed/pay attention to both my baby and my dog.

Then NJhusband had the audacity to be all proud when he came home from work and packed JUST for himself. Then promptly said no to the 4 things I asked him if he had remembered to put in his bag.

I pack for myself, the baby and the dog. He doesn't get a medal for throwing 3 sweaters, 7 t shirts and some underwear in a bag.

My Christmas List

I honestly didn't have much of a list this year. I REALLY could use some clothes since I'm in that weird post-pregnancy interim size, but I don't even know what size I am these days and shopping is SO far down on my priority list, so for now, I'll hang on to those maternity jeans and yoga pants.

Even though I'm not doing a ton of cooking right now, I did ask NJhusband for a second bowl for my beloved Kitchenaid mixer and I'd LOVE the scraper paddle.

That's about it for me. My wish list is super boring this year.

How about sleep? Can I ask for that this year?

Things that Should be On a Baby Registry

I had the diapers, the wipes, the baby bottles and the cute toys covered. I carefully added them to my registry and shopped for the deals. What the books DIDN'T tell you to add were:

- A hands free headset for your phone. I seriously LIVE in my iphone headphones with the built in microphone. I wouldn't be able to talk on the phone otherwise!

- A crockpot.  Eli sleeps mostly during the morning hours and is fussier around the dinner hours  If I can get a meal going in the morning it really makes life much easier!

- A manicure set for me.  I was never one for keeping my nails up.  Now I have to keep them filed or else I scratch him.

- A dry erase board. We are so sleep deprived we can NEVER remember when Eli ate last! We always write down the time and amount of his last feeding so we know when to guess if he might be hungry.

A little unconventional, but these are for SURE registry must haves!

Book Review: The Secret Keeper by Beverly Lewis

Jenny feels like she was born in the wrong place and in the wrong time. From a privileged upbringing, the frills and indulgences are completely lost on her. Her desire for simplicity and an an escape from the "fluff" of life drives her interest in the Amish culture.

In her journey to join an Amish community she discovers the simple life isn't as simple as she previously thought.

The Secret Keeper had a good mix of likable characters as well as the unlikable ones that drive the story. The fourth installment in a series, it can be read in order or independently.

Bethany House Publishers provided me a copy of this book to review, but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations and thoughts while reading this novel.

That's a New One

I still don't know how it happened, but this morning Eli managed to projectile spit up into the closed drawers of his dresser. Which means at 4am I was doing massive amounts of laundry.

At least he hasn't spit up on the dog....yet.
