Orion gave us a bit of a scare yesterday. I got up to let him out in the morning and his back legs kept giving out and he couldn't stand up. We rushed him to the vet, but by the time we got him there, the issue had resolved itself and he was running and jumping like normal. The vet ran tests, but couldn't find anything wrong. She did note he is a bit overweight, so poor puppy boy needs to lay off the people food. He is having a hard time with the adjustment. EVERY time I eat he cries and cries. I know it's my fault for spoiling him, but it breaks my heart!

A few weeks ago I posted that month 6 had been cruel to us....well imagine my SHOCK at my follow-up appointment to find that was NOT the case at all!
Stay tuned in a few weeks for a VERY big announcement. We are cautiously optimistic, but don't want to say anything official until the next appointment.

An odd fact about NJhusband and I is that we switch sides of the bed often. We each have our own bedside table that we keep our own things in, but when it comes to actually sleeping on set sides, we flip flop often. Orion sleeps on the floor by whichever side I am on, so if his allergies are bad, I have to sleep on the side with the humidifier so that he will. Sometimes I have wicked insomnia and want to sleep on the side closest to the door so it's easier to get up and down at night. I think mostly for me, it's that I never got used to sharing a bed and inherently prefer to sleep alone so maybe switching it up lets me believe that the whole bed is mine. LOL
Anyone else not have a "side" of the bed?

Well to be honest, I USUALLY do shop in my PJs, but I digress....
I haven't been feeling 100% lately and NJhusband tries to pick up the slack where he can, but he's a busy guy and I hate burdening him with errands (not to mention when I send him to store, even with a list, he NEVER follows it exactly and always overspends). We needed some grocery essentials and I just wasn't feeling like I was up to a big grocery trip so I decided to try out Fresh Direct. Last night I popped on the website, picked my items and placed an order to be delivered this morning.
I just received my order and I'm officially in LOVE. Price-wise it's comparable to shopping at the more expensive grocery store in town (though comparable to sending NJhusband) so I wouldn't use it weekly, but for times here and there when we just aren't feeling up to a grocery store run, I will absolutely order again. The one thing I DO like about it is that I can easily see what my cart is costing me and adjust it to fit my weekly budget, whereas at the grocery store I tend to just throw things in and deal with the total afterwards. It's also nice to have groceries delivered right to my door. I park my car in a lot 2 blocks away from my house, so carrying a big haul is always a challenge.
Orion isn't a huge fan of deliveries, but once he realizes they are bringing food, I think he may warm to the idea too!
*Fresh Direct has no idea who I am. I just wanted to rave about finding yet another reason not to ever leave my house. LOL

We live in an urban area outside NYC. Our front windows look out onto a main street and we are 2 blocks away from a school. Orion loves to put his paws up in the window and look out, but he doesn't particularly like people to pass by "his" street. Today some boys from the nearby school passed by and he barked. They picked up a snowball and flung it him/the window, scaring the daylights out of him! Poor Orion. I get that it's annoying that he barks, but I think they were mean to try to scare my puppy boy!
Would it be inappropriate if tomorrow I threw a snowball back at them?

I'm feeling better today. I am learning a good life lesson to step back and take days one at a time. Stepping away from Dr. Google has helped tremendously as well. Sometimes the internet is NOT a good resource. Another good life lesson.
Day by day...minute by minute.

Month 6 of trying to conceive was the cruelest so far. We finally got the coveted 2 lines on the test, only to lose it a week later. This is the second time in 6 months a pregnancy didn't stick and I'm absolutely heartbroken. NJhusband, ever the optimist, wants to keep trying, but I am uncertain if I can keep doing this. I feel like I need time, but also know that every month that goes by is a month I am getting older and ticking off percentage points of probability of a good outcome. As it is, I wonder if I even have a chance at all.....

I avoided the science requirement in college until the very last minute. It was the ONLY class I had left in order to graduate and I was dreading it. I had a variety of options, but ultimately choose Weather 101 because it seemed the easiest.
I don't remember much of the class, but judging by the complete ambiguity of the weather people regarding this storm, I would have to say that I should have gotten an A just by simply showing up and answering test questions with "I don't know".
This morning my phone said the snow wasn't going to start until 3. When I got up at 6 to let Orion out, it was already snowing.
Hold on to your hats. This storm MAY be a big one.

Orion and I spent some quality time watching the snow fall on our front stoop while my mother-in-law raced home from work to let us in!

*We watched the Superbowl last night. Neither of us had a strong opinion on the teams, so we mostly watched for the commercials. The Taco Bell one was the only one I really loved. How crazy was the blackout in the 2nd half??
*I am in desperate need of Valentine's Day ideas for NJhusband. The funny thing is *I* couldn't care less about the holiday, but he insists on making a big deal of it. With his birthday in November and then Christmas, I'm freshly tapped out of ideas!
*Orion is getting a bath tomorrow. A LONG overdue bath. I don't understand how a dog who spends most of his time inside gets SO smelly, but this dog is ripe.
*NJhusband and I are getting a quote on Wednesday from painters to see how much it will cost if they do the repainting we need done. We COULD paint it ourselves, but we at least want to see what the cost would be. After the month we had it would be nice to have the painting magically finished for us. LOL
